So, nothing in this illustration is made up. We left early because of a deal I made with my children, then found that the car was blocked in so we left early for no reason, right?
Well I was standing in the middle of Clark Street when they clinched, and the sun broke through those flat gray clouds and, I am not kidding, lit up that beautiful Wrigley Field sign.
I'd lost my voice. Everyone was yelling. When we were driving home I said, "This was the greatest day ever!" And I looked in the rear view at Emily as she said, "What about the days we were born?"
See? I was so glad I brought them.
