Did you see that coming?
6 innings of 3 hit, shutout baseball from Jon Lester?
The Milwaukee Brewers, those guys can hit.
Lester struck out 8 of 'em, including a HUGE dodge-a-bullet K in the 6th on Keston Hiura with Tyrone Taylor on 3rd.
Unfortunately, Brandon Woodruff was just as good if not a tad better, no-hitting the Cubs through 5.
Happ got a hit in the 6th, and Kris Bryant got a triple in the 8th, and that was it for our fav team.
What's the worst case scenario in a loss to the Brewers?
That would be when the famous liar Ryan Braun gets the winning RBI.
On a sac fly with whiney don't need no help hitting Yu Darvish Christian Yelich on 3rd.
Whatever, it was an awesome pitching duel and I'll even happily take that painful loss if Lester can pitch like that from here on out.
I don't have a baseball painting today because yesterday my computer said, "Hey dummy, it's your anniversary tomorrow."
Made a gift instead.
Kyle Hendricks vs. Brett Anderson tonight at 6:05.
Last night Dave Ross gave Javier Baez a... not a time out, but kind of a night off to try to screw his head back on.
I get that he got used to using replay video of his at-bats during the game to make adjustments, but if the league won't let him use it this year (Covid won't let them have "video cops" watching players watch the videos), then make the adjustment to no video, please.
If Javy got hot, the rest of the season would become a no-brainer.
It appears Bryant's about to take flight, and Willson Contreras is just plain hot.
And you KNOW Anthony Rizzo's going to come out of it...
