You know, when people are getting sick and some dying, it's just greedy and insensitive to complain about missing entertainment.
On the other hand, baseball's role has sometimes been more than just entertainment.
During wartime... after 9.11... sometimes the country actually needs it to begin healing.
But this time, baseball's stuck.
That's all there is to it.
Maybe they figure out how to make it happen in Arizona.
Maybe it's 7 inning games - I don't really care about whatever wacky modifications they make, but the bottom line is safety.
Until then, here's more quarantine stuff...
We had a zoom chat with my son and his girlfriend for his birthday, and they broke out an improvised talking pineapple to brighten... everything.
And finally, so many robins are out!
Hope you got a smile at least, and...
Go Cubs!
Remember studying "Maslow's Pyramid" in Psych 101?
There were 5 levels of human needs, and you're supposed to fulfill all the needs on one level before you can focus on the next higher level. The highest level, #5 was called "Self-Actualization" - some sort of state of transcendent nirvana. But it's a long climb to the top. Anyway, the bottom - lowest level included the "you can't live without it things" - like breathing, water, food, sex, sleep, shelter, safety, etc.
It's all pretty fundamental but abstract stuff, until a time like this when you start constructing your own personal pyramid of needs. And you add a few things to your personal bottom level, stuff that YOU cannot live without. I had just two additions:
Baseball and Toilet Paper...
