I did this early in the game, not knowing it would turn into an epic 5 hour marathon crazy all hands on deck affair.
In the 3rd inning right after Kris Bryant hit a 2-run knock, AZ pitcher Luke Weaver got a 3-1 count on Anthony Rizzo, then threw a 95 MPH fastball at Rizzo's chest.
Not saying he didn't flinch - he definitely felt it. Stayed in the batters box and composed himself before trotting to first base.
But this illustration is barely an exaggeration when it comes to my reaction.
I've done this kind of thing in public as well. Ball hits Rizzo, I scream, entire bar turns to see if someone got stabbed.
Just little me, sorry.
Anyway, it's a crazy day.
Dog sick, work, yada yada.
Amazing game. Amazing story about Zobrist pulling himself from the starting lineup to let millennial David Bote and his Hot Bat start instead, then coming in late in the game to deliver a crucial 2-run double that broke the 3-3 tie.
15 innings. 9 (NINE!) pitchers.
Now, get on a plane to Seattle, chill for a day, then win on Tuesday.
