There's baseball, and there's real life.
And in real life, there is a great correction happening.
And this great correction is long overdue because... it's just the right thing.
It's not only about the abuse that allegedly happened in Addison Russell's house.
This great correction is also about any kind of abuse to anyone who may be different than you or me.
Addison Russell's ex-wife Melisa Reidy-Russell accused him of abuse.
There are certain things that make my blood boil.
This is one.
There isn't really any gray area when it comes to abuse.
End of story.
We'll see what transpires, but if it proves to be true, then in real life and in baseball I'll say good bye to Addison Russell.
If it proves to be false, then I'll welcome him back.
And I hate writing about it, but this story is where baseball and real life intersect.
Besides how horrible it all is, it's also just a shame.
The Cubs lost badly to the White Sox yesterday, and anyone who thought a trip to Comiskey was gonna be a walk in the park ought to be paying more attention.
The Sox are kinda the 2014 Cubs.
Their future Kris Bryant, Eloy Jimenez, isn't on the Big League team yet, but he'll be up next year.
And 24 year old Reynaldo Lopez, the guy who struck out 8 Cubs yesterday, that kid's gonna be around for a long time.
The Brewers and Cardinals won, too.
So the news was all really bad for the Cubs yesterday.
The sun came up, and it's a new day.
Let's see what happens.
