Well, it seems like we hadn't seen a finish like that in awhile.
Great starting pitching from both sides with Jon Lester going 6 and giving up 1, Joe Ross going 6 2/3 and giving up 2.
And at the end, with the Cubs down by 2 and down to their last out and guys on 1st and 3rd, Tommy LaStella came through with a big hit that scored Victor Caratini and moved Javier Baez to third.
And Jonn Jay came up and smacked a double that knocked in both Baez and feet-first sliding LaStella, Cubs up by one.
Wade Davis came in to make sure it stayed that way.
Huge split with the 1st place Nationals in their park.
And it was bench players and call-ups doing most of the damage.
Jeimer Candelario with his first homer in the Bigs, then LaStella and Jay.
Tonight it's the Reds in Cincinnati with Mike Montgomery vs. Scott Feldman, the guy Theo traded along with Steve Clevenger for Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop.
(smiley face goes here).
EDIT: Apologies to John Jay, I mean Jon Jay, for messing up the spelling of his name. I fixed it, but what a dolt I am.
