So I'm walking through the beer section at Jewel.
And I'm trying to hurry because Jewel has some kind of anti-wifi force field, and my At Bat app never works in there.
And the Cubs are playing out in my car.
I grab some frosty cold Lagunitas Little Sumpin' and turn to go but out the corner of my eye something is weird.
Or is it?
I look at a stack of Pabst Blue Ribbons and one of the cases appears to have "Cubs World Series" printed on it.
I shake my head and look back.
Just a case of Pabst.
I was seeing things.
I guess it's not weird because that WS thought is in my head all the freaking time now.
All. The. Time.
It's possible that I'm suffering from too long without actual Cubs games.
It's possible that I'll have more hallucinations like this all the way up until 9:05 pm on Monday April 4th, when the 2016 season opens for real in Anaheim.
I hope so because they're kinda fun.
Did you see Jeff Samardzija yesterday?
I'd heard he was absolutely sucking, but he looked pretty good out there for the Giants.
He has turned into a funny character in the story of the Cubs, and I'll always feel like he shoulda come back.
That all the time he spent on the worst Cubs teams, just wasting time while waiting for the Cub Kids to incubate, that it could have paid off for him by coming back.
But, I'll totally take Addison Russell any day of the week and I still can't believe that trade.
That kid is already amazing, and of almost all the Cubs I feel more excitement about him than anyone.
Plus the little things, like I remember the first time I saw him tag a guy out at 2nd, after all the years of watching Starlin Castro, and thinking oh yeah, that's how you do that.
Anyway, I hope you get some time to watch the Cubs at 3:05 today, and have a Happy Easter.
