When Clayton Kershaw sings the Cubs' praises... stuff like this is still just so weird to me.
Going all the way back to '09, it would have been a backhanded, "Well, they're still a Major League baseball team..."
I don't know if you remember, but the video "highlights" from most Cub games last year were things like, "Castro fields a tough one" or "Sweeney hits a double".
Last night we got to see Anthony Rizzo absolutely kay-rush a breathtaking 440 footer off Kershaw.
I know - it was the only Cub run in a 1-4 loss to the Dodgers.
The latest in a 3-game skid.
But I hope nobody's freaking out.
Tonight the whole deal gets reversed with Jon Lester on the mound vs 4.81 Matt Latos.
And come on, Bumgarner and Kershaw in back to back away games - I doubt any team has had to take that on this season.
If the Cubs take one of the next two games on this road trip, I'd take that.
And a semi-friendlier 8:10 start tonight.
Hey you know what is one AMAZING benefit to the Cubs being so awesome this year?
I haven't had to do a single post about how awful the Bears are about to be.
I was up in Wisconsin last weekend (before Nelson went down) and... there's just nothing you can say.
Packer fans won't feel sorry for you, you just have to eat it.
Really really not any fun.
Whoops, I talked about it.
Okay never again til... later.
