Of all these things, the most daring is hoping Jorge Soler becomes Rookie of the Year.
Everything I've read about him this Spring has been excellent, including (can't remember where I read it) some scout saying he really hasn't swung at anything outside the strike zone.
He's got the experience from last year, he's a total stud with an all around game.
The Memphis thing comes from looking at the Iowa Cubs' schedule.
Starts on April 9th in Memphis, and I don't know about you but I'm sticking with the logic that my heart wishes Kris Bryant would start the season at Wrigley on the 5th but my head says no, not til the 17th vs the Padres.
Which means his first game would be in Memphis with the Iowa Cubs on April 9th because that's when Minor League Baseball's Opening Day is.
If the Cubs start on April 5th and the Minor's don't start til the 9th... maybe someone smarter than me can tell me what Kris Bryant will be doing during those 4 days in between?
4 Cub All-Stars.
Okay super optimistic but whatever.
Besides Castro and Rizzo, Lester and Arrieta come to mind and then... maybe someone else?
I'm getting waaaay ahead of myself mostly because now we're just waiting for the Kris Bryant thing to resolve itself and nothing good to talk about happened yesterday with the Cubs.
The "It's gonna happen" t-shirt thing - I already saw them all over the Cubs Convention and you know how much I hate that set of words, but I guess I'll have to live with it.
The hammy is a given.
My neighbor Garry the Cop drained the gas from his snow blower and stored it in his garage 2 days ago, so it's COMPLETELY HIS FAULT that it snowed again. And I figure he'll do it a couple more times so... yes it'll snow again.
And of course the dreaded hammy will happen to someone...
But maybe it'll just be me while shoveling snow and we won't have to worry about it being a Cub!
