For Cubs Management, I don't think there was ever a question.
For the fans, it's been kind of an internal battle, right?
Heart says leave Kris Bryant up, Head says get the extra year.
Now that it's over, I'm kinda relieved - it makes nothing but sense.
But... did Management make Bryant angry?
Tell you what - Bryant is a Boras guy.
Boras would never have said, "Hey Kris, we should give these guys a home town discount."
Bryant will be a monster, and his contract will be Godzilla.
He'll go to the highest bidder.
Hopefully it's the Cubs.
I'm not shocked.
But I AM done talking about it (although good LORD does this have the nation in a tizzy - I even heard mopey Boomer Esiasan complain about it on the Score this morning).
It's the way things are now.
Jumbotrons and advertising and even DJs will become part of our lives.
Just... keep your eyes on the prize.
