Well, honestly, I'm getting a little sick of saying "I'm so happy!" for some ex-Cub who's moved to another team with actual World Series aspirations.
But I'll say it again for Alfonso Soriano, I guess.
He's kicking ass and taking names for the Yankees right now.
Somewhere in this Daily News article is a quote from Angels manager Mike Soscia, who said of Soriano: "He's had a good month these last two games."
Soscia's been watching him knock in 13 runs the last couple games against his team.
The Yanks meanwhile have won 4 in a row and are currently 5 games out of the Wild Card.
And while we all hate the Yankees, you can't ever count 'em out.
Why in the world did it take Alfonso so long to agree to the trade?
Anyway, good for him.
Meanwhile in Boston, Ryan Dempster is 6-8 with a 4.5 ERA... Scott Feldman is 2-3 with the Orioles...Matt Garza is 2-1 with the Rangers while team mate and backup catcher Geovany Soto is hitting .214 with a .712 OPS, in Atlanta Reed Johnson is .269 with a .696, and in 9 total innings Carlos Marmol has given up 10 hits, 6 BB, 1 homer, and improved his ERA from a Cubby 6.44 to a Dodgery 5.4.
And in the other meanwhile, the Cubs got swept by the Reds at Wrigley, getting shut out 5 zip yesterday.
They can't lose today since it's a day off, but next up?
The Cards are coming to town.
Go Cubs.

I have not been paying attention to what the ex-Cubs are doing. But geez!, 13 rbi in 2 games!?!
Great line from Soscia!
So the Yankee's are 6 out of the wild card, but 5-5 in their last ten. I know it is the Yanks, but I don't see it.
When the trade was made I though the Yankees were thinking next year. I guess Soriano still has something to say about that.
As usual, nice illustration.

Yeah, I know they're kind of an afterthought this year, but Soriano really gave them a jolt.
It would be nice to see him do something that mattered...
