« Cubs Open Up About Bradley | Main | Milton Bradley's fill in the blanks apology. »

September 23, 2009

A couple months ago, in several of my comments I used the phrase "It's just baseball".

I needed escape the angst caused by my growing discontent with the failures of team chemistry, failures of management, and failure in the sale negotiations. It was if playing baseball had become secondary to the daily soap-opera that surrounded the Cubs.

Today, so many of those problems have been addressed. I believe that the exorcisms, of Sam Zell and Milton Bradley have cleansed us of the primary sources of our angst. Our rookies look bright-eyed and eager to prove themselves. Our veterans seem ready to lead those rookies...by example and by mentoring. Lou has a glint in his eye for the first time in many months. And we fans are happier than we've been in a long time.

This week we were reborn...as a baseball team.

Play ball!

There is...a future!
You nailed it, Bud.

The wicked witch of the Northside is ALMOST gone, I can't wait for the day where he is officially no longer a Cub. He doesn't deserve to be a Cub.

It feels so good to see these guys now...Lee, and Rami, and the Riot, everyone! They all seem happy...even if we're not going anywhere (playoffs) we're all very happy :)
