Well, there you go.
Even more difficult than we thought possible.
Cubs 1 Brewers 3.
Another one of those games where the bats were blind as... bats.
Anthony Rizzo connected on a massive homer to tie the game at 1, and Javier Baez had a 9 pitch man-battle with freaky killer Brewer kid Josh Hader in the bottom of the 9th, but otherwise.. sort of a no-show for the bats.
5 innings, 1 run.
I mean... I was YELLING at the TV to STOP THROWING FASTBALLS TO RYAN BRAUN.
There were some seriously contacted line drives, but they were foul.
And then, Braun struck out.
In the end, I ran out of the room right after Rizzo's final fly ball so I didn't have to watch the Brewerbration on my infield.
Tonight the Rockies have to fly from Los Angeles to Chicago, having lost to the Dodgers 2-5.
I hope the fight is bumpy and the plane serves bad oysters.
Tuesday night at 7 Jon Lester will take the mound, with Kyle Hendricks and Cole Hamels ready for bullpen roles if necessary.
I prefer to think that Lester will be Lester, and the Cub bats will wake and pound some.
