I'm pretty sure that like me, you have the MLB At Bat app, right?
And it's set to notify you when something happens in the world of baseball.
It went off so often yesterday I had to turn off my phone.
Because when the Yeonis Cespedes for Jon Lester trade happened, I was in a meeting.
My phone vibrated in my pocket.
I glanced down at it and outta my mouth came something like, "HOLY GOD THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"
Then what was up with the nasty looks?
Okay, phone off.
Anyway, I had dental surgery today.
They yanked a tooth, drilled a hole into my jaw and inserted a metal post upon which, 3 months from now, they'll put on a new tooth.
Takes 3 months for the bone to grow together the metal.
About 45 minutes ago, the half of my head that was numb from the novacaine stopped with that feeling of ants crawling all over as it slowly came back to normal.
And now I'm full of vicodin, which is a much nicer way to be confused than trying to make sense of all the trades from yesterday.
So I'm gonna lay down.
But after all these years, it's really cool to watch Billy Beane deal in public like this.
Go fearlessly all in.
Because it makes the Cub Fan think, "Just you wait, baseball."
