A homer in his first at bat?
How can things possibly get better for the Chicago Cubs in 2014?
Jorge Soler came up against the Reds' Mat Latos and hit the 4th pitch he'd ever seen in The Bigs 423 feet up and over the center field wall at Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
Another Cub Prospect comes up and takes your breath away.
You gotta think that somewhere Theo, Jed and Jason are kinda pleased with themselves.
Not gonna get into that ugly space-out by Starlin Castro, I figure you can read all about it pretty much everywhere else.
I'd rather just kinda look at the Cubs and marvel at these new possibilities.
Did you see Arismendy Alcantara nonchalantly hit that 100 mpher from Aroldis Chapman in the 9th?
And Baez juuuuust missed the homer to end the game.
That's just a whole new kind of excitement for you and me.
Who knew this would happen in August of 2014?
ps: In the spirit of being a good internet guy and giving credit where it's due, I borrowed the photo from here, and it was shot by Daniel Hagerman. Daniel, if my modifications make you angry I'll happily take this down, but hopefully somebody went to your site and bought a photo.
