Back in March, John Heyman over at CBS SPORTS wrote this nice article about Kris Bryant, and I loved the part where it says: "Bryant posts a list of preseason goals on his bathroom mirror, and he refreshes himself while brushing his teeth every morning."
I have goals too, of course.
But my mirror says "Mow the lawn" and "Stop pouring the last bits of potato chip crumbs in your mouth in front of coworkers".
Anyway, surely one of Bryant's goals was to get to triple A this year, and he did that a couple days ago.
Because he was abusing pitchers in AA ball.
Bryant "...led the Southern League at Double-A Tennessee in batting average (.355), home runs (22), RBIs (58), on-base percentage (.458) and slugging (.702)."
Those numbers are impossible, but I read them on the internet so, you know, they're true.
(The other cool thing about that article is at the bottom, where it says that Arodys Vizcaino got promoted too!)
All this news along with Kyle Schwarber moving to Kane County already makes a Cub Fan's head spin.
Pretty fantastic, and while I want to enjoy every day of my life, I WISH TIME WOULD HURRY THE HELL UP SO WE COULD SEE THESE GUYS IN WRIGLEY FIELD.
Cubs/Pirates today at Wrigley.
