Not a flat tire.
Not stepping in dog doo.
Not getting hit by a bus.
Nothing can wreck this kind of mood.
How incredible and unexpected is it for the Cubs to win their first regular season series since um... lets just say "of the year"... against the St. Louis Cardinals?
The 2nd place, 6 games behind the Brewers St. Louis Cardinals?
(Yes,the Brewers thing is REVOLTING, but somebody has to be in first, I guess).
Jake Arrieta looked pretty fantastic.
He came off the DL, struck out 7 and didn't give up a run for 5.1 innings.
Brian Schlitter came in for the next 2 outs and ended up getting his first win in The Bigs.
Then Russel/Ramirez/Strop and finally closer Hector Rondon gave up exactly nothin' and the Cubs shut 'em out 3-zip.
Junior Lake hit a massive homer off Michael Wacha, the guy who had a win and loss vs Boston in last year's World Series.
And Anthony Rizzo.
That guy is what you'd call "locked in" right now - his OPS is .942 which is 11th best in the NL and one tick better than Andrew McCutchen.
He hit his 6th homer.
Plus it was a beautiful out.
Made even beautifuller by the Cubs.
Now, don't say the "S" word out loud.
But if you go to Wrigley tonight, bring a freaking broom.
