This feels oddly familiar.
In Jeff Samardzija's two starts, the Cubs have a total of zeero runs.
His ERA is 1.29, giving up 2 earned over 14 innings.
In home game number two at Wrigley Field, where a giant sign says "IT'S THE PARTY OF THE CENTURY", the Cubs lost.
To the Phillies.
Nothin' to two.
Cliff Lee must have been pretty mad after his disastrous opening start where he gave up 8 earned in 5 innings.
Although, unlike Jeff Samarzija's Cubs, Lee's Phils still scored 14 runs and Lee got a W.
Starlin Castro went 3 for 4, and Anthony Rizzo went 2 for 4.
So that's kinda good.
And Emilio Bonifacio (I've never learned to spell a new Cub's name so quickly) is still hitting in the .600s with a couple more hits.
Today it's Carlos Villanueva (ERA 13.50) starting for the Cubs vs A.J. Burnett (ERA 1.50).
And then it's a day off on Monday.
Probably gonna need that.
