I do have a short memory.
If there has been a longer, bigger pain in the ass winter in the last 20 years, someone please remind me.
I heard on the radio that we've actually gotten lots of sunshine this winter, but I could care less.
It's freaking freezing every day, and I've shoveled more snow more often than any winter ever.

You know, traffic is horrible and everyone's pissed off and the Potholes of Hades are everywhere and you gotta run your windsield cleaner every 5 seconds to see more bad traffic and I HATE EVERYTHING FOREVER and then a miracle happens! An angel from where the sky is blue whispers in my ear... it's Pat Hughes calling the first Cactus League homer from Javier Beaz, the future of the Cubs.
It was even cooler because at first he did the patented "this one's got a chaaaance" and had to end it with "that went four hundred and fifty feet."
Hey douchebag in the purple Prius, go ahead and cut me off - I don't care.
Don't you see all the flowers growing in those black sooty cowpies on the side of the road?
It is GORGEOUS OUT!
I hope that you too can find a way to keep sane.

Thanks to everyone who emailed that bit of news.
Here's another cool thing.
Frequent commenter Bud went to Cubs Park and I guess this sign is near the entrance or something. Anyway, he had them put "Cubby Blue" up and took this shot:
