You know me.
I'm as squeamish as anybody, probably way more than you.
When they showed the replay of Chris Maragos "running into" (horrible call) Niner punter Andy Lee, and you could see his cleats catch in the turf and his ankle twisted I already wanted to hurl.
But the Fumble Play - Russel Wilson completes the 9 yarder to Jermaine Kearse, he gets nailed and stripped by NaVorro Bowman, and then that other Niner crashed into the play and Bowman's knee...
I can't even write it in words.
But it turns into such controversy because Bowman's got the ball but the refs thought Marshawn Lynch had recovered it.
Everybody could see the ball.
Everybody knew it was the wrong call.
And yet it wasn't reviewable, which I no longer cared about because they kept showing the replay and Bowman's knee destruction was part of the play.
And Troy Aikman and Joe Buck kept on talking over the picture, making me feel like I was watching James Caan's "Rollerball".
Where the players were meat for entertainment, and that's just the way it is (in the movie).
Anyway, I remember when Tim Krumrie had the really really bad leg snap in Superbowl 23, how the announcers couldn't figure out what happened and they played it over and over until one of them finally saw it and said something like Oh, let's not show that again.
At one point Joe Buck did say, "That's hard to watch", but otherwise...over and over.
I guess there isn't an answer for how to handle that kind of thing as far as what the announcers should say.
It's just so shocking.
But I know what I'll do from now on.
Run out of the room.
