What were you doing when you were 23?
Waking up in a panic thinking you were late for class?
Not Sonny Gray.
That kid held the Detroit Tigers to 4 hits and no (none, zeero) runs thru 8 innings in his first playoff start ever.
That's the team with Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder.
And Justin Verlander.
Sonny Gray had 64 innings under his belt before this game.
Verlander has over 1700.
There was a TON of sports on tv last night - the Blackhawks, Northwestern v Ohio State, Sun Devils v The Irish, Boston v the Rays...you had to be flipping from channel to channel to channel.
But I think Sonny Gray's performance was the coolest.
Plus, how come some guys get names like Sonny Gray?
You could be a champion surfer or James Bond or The Most Interesting Man In The World with that name.
My name sounds like the manager at the grocery store.
Young Sonny beat the Detroit Tigers 1 to nothin' and now the Tigers and A's are all tied up in their best of 5.
And Justin Verlander threw 117 pitches for nothing.
I mean, if you're for Detroit you had to be thinking this was TOTALLY a Tiger win, but then all your mojo walked out on you.
Fabulous playoff baseball.
I gotta run.
And now, nothing matters but the Bears.
