Poor Chris Rusin.
How long ago was the shutout win over the Cards that got everybody's attention?
Almost 2 months?
Now the season's over for him with the bitter aftertaste of 51 pitches to get thru 2.1 innings and 4 earned runs in a 2-8 shellacking by the Pirates.
No chance at redemption.
I got to go the other night, when the game ended with Nate Schierholtz being sent home, looked like he wasn't expecting to be sent, and a not so exciting attempt to score.
The Pirates had a little celebration, and would clinch a playoff spot later that night.
Even Billy Beane says the playoffs are all about luck.
The Pirates, the Reds and Cardinals will all be in it, and they all seem relatively hot.
Ought to be some interesting baseball coming up.
It would be so fantastic if the Cubs could mess with the Cardinals.
Just for fun.
