How do the Cardinals keep coming up with new guys whenever they need them?
How do they keep winning year after year?
It's not because their GM sneaks off to have dinner and a signing with Milton Bradley, I'll tell you that.
It's their system.
And the Cubs...sure they're just beginning, but I gotta think with the way Theo Epstein, Jed Hoyer and Jason McCloud are handling things today for what's to come later, they'll get there too.
They started dealing yesterday with the Feldman trade, got a couple power arms from Baltimore.
There's alot more stuff going on, too, and so fast I can't keep up.
The biggest so far and the one I think will get the attention of Darth Cardinal is this news of the Cubs and Eloy Jimenez - the "crown jewel" of the international class of 2013.
For every loss the Cubs put up last year and this year and probably the next, they're getting some system wins that we should all be paying attention to in order to keep our sanity.
Speaking of which, the bullpen couldn't hold onto a lead last night and lost to the Oakland A's 7-8 when James Russell gave up a 3-run dinger to the back up catcher in the bottom of the 8th.
Lucky for me, I went to bed happy right after the Cubs went up 7-5 in the 6th.
