I was gonna try to make this into a riddle, like "what's black and white and red all over?" But this one's about numbers so I figured I'd mess it up.
Edwin Jackson has stepped on the mound for the first time for 8 different teams: Los Angeles, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Arizona, Chicago's American League team, St. Louis, Washington and now the Cubs.
You'd think he must be 40, but he's 29.
The Cubs signed him to a 4 year $52 mil deal, so he'll probably be here til he's 33.
There was all kindsa freaking out about if the Cubs were going to actually get a starter signed in the off season, and while I was a little surprised at this one, I like it.
He was an All-Star with the Tigers, had a no-hitter with the Diamondbacks.
Probably will throw 190 innings, and he needs just 31 strike outs to reach a thousand.
I didn't really pay any attention to him this spring, knowing he's always been kind of solid.
Not really the big headline piece of the puzzle - he seems more like one less thing to worry about.
A legit starter.
Of course any Cub Fan would shudder to think what the rotation would look like without him, so here's hoping he has a fabulous 2013.
We'll all get a look tonight at 6:05 live from Pittsburgh PA.
Lastly, my dogs.
We got them long ago from "the pound".
But... is it really?
I've always wondered...how can I be certain that "the pound" isn't actually a front for some alien race?
And we're right at the beginning of some kind of alien invasion?
"That's CRAZY, Tim!" you might say.
But the other day I took a chance photo, and believe my suspicions have been justified.
This is an actual, unretouched photo of what I believe is the precise moment when my dogs use their alien super powers to render me helpless, hypnotizing me into becoming a party to their evil wants.
God only knows what I've done while under their evil alien little dog spell.
ps: If you didn't see this, ESPN did a survey with some players and among other things asked who they thought the next breakout star was going to be. Rhymes with...hey - NOTHING rhymes with Rizzo.
