Life is strange, isn't it?
Of all the managers in all of baseball, Mark Prior ends up with Dusty Baker, trying to make it back to the bigs with Cinci.
Of course there's the "Dusty Baker contributed to the demise of Mark Prior" and all that.
But it's been such a long and painful road for Prior that I hardly care about the Baker part any more.
(I know - easy for ME to say, right?)
The point is that Prior never gave up.
That's really all that matters now.
And never giving up is a trait that a Cub Fan appreciates more than, well come on... nobody cares more that than us.
I'd be SO happy to see Prior on the mound once again.
He doesn't have to be a god.
I don't care if he's a starter or a mop up guy.
Just play.
Face a hitter for real one more time.
I would really really like to see that.
So...good luck, Mark Prior.
And good luck to our Cubs Opening Day starter, Jeff Samardzija.
Even if Garza was healthy, I don't know why there should be any drama over that choice.
Samardzija earned it.
Thankfully they got it out of the way.
