My little At Bat App was working perfectly on Sunday afternoon, and I got to hear Len Kasper call Jorge Soler's first homer as a Cub.
March 11th, 2013 - we'll never remember this and it'll be years before he's in the Bigs, but you have to think that that was the first of many..
And, that wasn't the only exciting thing I heard.
Travis Wood was dealin' yesterday - his first two innings he faced 7 guys and struck out 5.
He went 4 and kinda lost his concentration - walked a couple guys, but wouldn't it be fabulous if he became a real guy?
The Cubs ST record is kind of miserable and they hadn't won in quite some time, so it was very cool to have the time to listen and have the bats come to life and hear some good pitchin'.
Christian Villanueva and Dioner Navarro hit homers as well, and Alfonso Soriano smacked a double.
Ex Cub Andrew Cashner retired the side in the 7th, and I think that was his first time pitching since he cut a tendon in his hand in some kind of hunting accident, so...I just like that kid and hope he makes it.
Anyway, kind of an awesome Sunday.
And Anthony Rizzo and his team of Italian ballplayers are off to Florida to contninue in this WBC tournament.
Did you see that Mexico/Canada fight?
Good god, when you're not pro and therefore not making a buncha money, I guess you can be a little more serious with the bench-clearing brawl.
Okay, just a little bunny joke to brighten up your Monday.
Have a fabulous day and Go Cubs.
