Did you not immediately have a minor heart attack when you first heard about Albert Almora's "wrist" injury?
(Well, somewhere I read it was a wrist, but it turns out to be a hand.)
Yeah, he's years from the BIG Bigs, but he's definitely playing with and for the Big Boys now.
And I was kinda freaking out thinking about Derrek Lee and what a bad, profanity-laced time that was.
Then I read Dale Sveum's quote (I found it here) about Almora's injury and, come on man - that's just funny:
"It's not a career problem, more a pain-in-the-butt-type thing that happens to quite a few hitters over the history of the game. It's a little bone that doesn't mean anything, that you don't need, [and it won't] cost him eight weeks before he gets in a game."
If I'm a passenger on a plane that's going down, I want Sveum to be the pilot.
If I'm wearing a Black Hawks hat in St. Louis, I want him walking next to me.
If I'm a director trying to find the next Bruce Willis, I'd cast Dale Sveum.
Have him write the dialogue too.
Sorry I've been out so long - on production.
Gots to catch up!
