This Oprah Winfrey interview with Lance Armstrong thing.
I had some preconcieved notions going in that all turned out to be true.
Biggest liar?
Check.
Drug takin' cheater?
Check, although his interperetation of "cheating" was interesting.
Other people's lives ruiner?
Check.
Yeah, he's maybe the biggest U.S. sports embarrassment of all time.
Kind of a horror film in every way except the show could have used John Carpenter as director.
(His will always be the only version of "The Thing" that ever exists to me.)
But Lance.
This isn't any kind of "I feel for him", not even remotely.
But if you think about it, if he wasn't in sports...say he was the CEO of some company?
There wouldn't be any outcry at all.
He just did whatever he could to win.
Now, depending on what business he was in, he might be going to prison...
I'm just saying that if you look at, for instance, Apple and Samsung.
Billions of dollars in lawsuits and copyright infringements and sneaky stuff going on there all the time.
It's just business.
But in sports, and rightly so, you gotta check that at the door.
While I'm certain that drug-cheating won't ever be over - there's just too much money and fame and importance place upon sports - I hope Lance's life experience might make people think twice.
Ahhh, sorry I even brought it up.
I just wanted to do the guy's head turning into that crab thing.
Okay, it's Cubs Convention Time!
Here's the schedule from the Chicago Cubs Online..
Somebody told me tonight's part is gonna be on tv, but I can't find what channel.
I know 7-10 tonight will be live on WGN radio, so listen in.
I'm hoping to go, and if I do I'll draw as fast as I can.
GO CUBS!
PS: John Carpenter, if my drawing makes you angry let me know and I'll take it down but please know I'm a huge fan.
