Just as a regular guy, I kinda feel for Bryan LaHair.
Wouldn't your head be spinning with such an up and down, crazy career?
You're the Pacific Coast League MVP - the world is your oyster.
One day you're brought up to be the Cubs' 1st baseman.
The next they're bringing up Anthony Rizzo.
One day you're an actual Chicago Cubs All-Star as a rookie!

It's both a blessed and jinxed career he's had so far, not helped at all by the fact that only 3 of his 88 hits in 2012 came against lefties. That his OPS vs right handed pitchers was .865 while against lefties it's .292.
Sure you might say that he didn't get a fair shake. That he had 292 at bats against righties and only 48 vs lefties. That Dale Sveum shoulda started him against more lefties. It was a doomed season anyway, right?

But I think those new guys in Cubs management are pretty smart, and they just think otherwise. So they're going to help facilitate his move to Japan.
You have to think that no other teams came to the Cubs and said, "Hey, we'd LOVE to have LaHair. What'll it take to get him here?"

So if he goes to Japan, hell man - maybe it's the best thing for all concerned.
In reality, there's another kid first baseman named Dan Vogelbach who may actually have the Golden Bat of the future.
The Cubs are kind of stacked at that position.
LaHair might go hit 50 homers and be a giant hero in Japan, too.

While I feel sorry for his ups and downs, it can't really suck playing a game for a living.

Hey Charles M Shulz, if you can hear me, I'm sorry I borrowed Lucy but she was perfect for Mr. LaHair.
