Well it was a pretty good day yesterday.
Anthony Rizzo, one of the Cubs Of The Future, hit his first Cub home run and helped beat the Houston Astros 3-2.
Meanwhile, Theo Epstein (and Jed Hoyer) officially signed Jorge Soler, another Cub Of The Future, to the 9 year $30 mil contract we all expected to be signed.
Those two guys along with Starlin Castro equals a score of 3 for the Cub Future.
Good for Theo!
Unfortunately, the Cub Past already scored 104 years of hurl-worthy heartbreak, never-ending loss, beer crying, and stupid waiting til next stupid year.
So Theo's got a bit of catching up to do.
I stuck 4 innings in the drawing to represent the 4 years you generally hear when people talk about Theo's plan perhaps actually working.
Still, like I said, a fabulous day yesterday.
May it continue into today with a possible sweep as Possible Cub Of The Future Travis Wood will be on the mound against Wandy Rodriguez, who's name I attempted to make into an "I hate the Cubs page" poem, rhyming "Wandy Rodriguez" with "He says that she says".
Couldn't make it work.
