Man, this Cubs team is the worst hitting team ever.
Well, they had a lead for about 5 minutes against the Brewers yesterday, which was kind of exciting.
Bryan LaHair hit his 12th homer and knocked in Alfonso Soriano, and the Cubs were up 3-2.
But then Cory Hart hit a double to bring in Norichika Aoki to tie it, followed by Aoki hitting his second homer of the day, this one off Casey Coleman, for the walk-off win in the 10th.
Brewers 4 Cubs 3.
I keep hearing Len and Bob talk about the Cub bats not having any confidence, and I remembered this one time an account person gave me a ride from a meeting and with no trace of embarrassment at all, put on a self help tape.
A woman's soothing voice just saying goofy positive things over and over and over...
So to all you Cub bats, imagine the following with just such a voice a and maybe pipe music in the background:
Think poooossitive. You can dooooooo it. Visualize balllllll connection. Show restraaaaaint with pitches in the diiiiiirrt. Lay down the perfect buuuunt. Refraaaain from grooouuunding into dooouuuble plaaaaaays. Be crisp. Be swift. You're gooooood enough...
And in the meantime, maybe the Cubs sign Jorge Soler (FANGRAPHS article) or something.
