I mean, I hope he does.
It would be fantastic if Jeff Samardzija became a dominant starter.
I was... still just getting used to him being so effective in the bullpen.
Here's what Dale Sveum said about him the other day:
"It's impressive and it's what organizations dream of -- a 6-foot-6, 240-pound athlete on the mound who has four pitches with velocity," Sveum said of Samardzija's performance. "It's impressive, there's no doubt about it. I don't think he's doing anything we didn't expect. The way he finished throwing the ball the last season, the mechanical changes he made, the confidence he gained. Now it's just full force right now."
That's some pretty strong language there, Skip.
You gotta figure J. Sam is the number 3 no matter what.
If he does really well, however, then it'll be like the gif above for me.
Other stuff that blows my mind?
Peyton Manning just breezing around from team to team, choosing whatever he wants.
Looks like Denver.
But, even if he looks good and passes physicals and brings all that awesome history with him, I just... can't... get over... neck injury.
Just the words "neck" and "injury" together make me hurl.
So he's going to Denver where they're a mess at QB, so I guess it makes sense.
But if I'm a Denver fan I'm going on full nervous alert at all times forever.
Chris Volstad.
I really do think Carlos Zambrano will do well in Miami, in fact I'm happy for him in his new surroundings.
But if Volstad keeps doing what he's doing, which is keeping other teams from scoring any runs, and all the while not punching gatorade coolers or team mates?
It'll blow my mind.
What else?
In 16 days, the Washington Nationals are coming to Wrigley Field to play the Cubs in the home opener, and it might be ohhhh, say 76 degrees outside that day.
Mind.
Blowing.
