Ozzie Guillen got tossed within seconds of coming out to argue last night.
Super close play with the ball bouncing in front of the plate, spinning back to the very tippy tip of the back of the plate, Geovanny Soto grabbing it and tagging the batter, ump gives him the thumb and Ozzie was out there before the ump got his thumb down.
Then, Ozzie was out of the game a couple minutes later.
I figure it was a kidney stone hangover.
Ah, that was hardly a highlight last night since there was so much good Cubs stuff:
Starlin Castro - did you see how gorgeous his swing was on that homer?
Like, effortless.
He went 2 for 4 with a run and 3 RBIs.
Carlos Pena hit a 3-run dinger that hung an L on Gavin Floyd.
Carlos Zambrano had the perfect opportunity to explode after Paul Konerko's 2-run homer shortly after Juan Pierre led off with a line drive single.
But he didn't.
Camera got close on his face and I was waiting for his glove to come up and cover his mouth like he used to do so he could scream into it.
Didn't happen.
He kept on pitching, and he was fantastic.
8 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, Cubs 6 Sox 3.
And it's Garza v Buehrle tonight.
Who knows?
