In the NL, it was perhaps the coldest team vs the hottest team.
The Brewers had just jumped into first after sweeping the Cardinals, the Cubs had just lost ohhh, say about their last million games.
And the cold guys win.
Ryan Dempster pitched his usual all out, 110% self.
I didn't get to watch the whole thing but the post game said he had everything workin'.
And Darwin Barney got a hit when it mattered (bottom 8, nothin nothin).
So did Carlos Pena, and then Aramis Ramirez hit a dinker up the middle and Barney went for it.
If he's out, well, that's what I was expecting - weren't you?
But he got a nice little jump from third and flashed down the line, head first slide.
Hand just barely in there.
Now, I don't expect him to be an elite player, but I sure do like what he's made of.
