This is one anti-streaky Cub team we've got here in 2011.
Take one step forward, one step back, one step forward...
I don't know, maybe it's working, because it's even reflected in the standings.
At 8 last night they were in first, at 9 they were in 3rd, and this morning, they're in first again!
(Well, of course that's first in alphabet only since 4 teams in the Central are tied at 9-9.)
It's also reflected in my lack of a heart attack so far this year.
Like yesterday's first game - got a little excited about the Cubs being up by one in the 9th with Marmol pitching, a little bummed when he blew the save, pretty excited when Reed hit one out for the walk off win, a little sad with the nightcap loss...
You can call it steady and consistent, or mediocre and boring...
I'm kinda waiting for something to happen, and maybe it's just weather.
Supposed to get nice this weekend, and could be that'll be some kind of a boost.
But I'm wondering about the Central.
Pretty soon the important injuries in Cincinnati and Milwaukee and here will resolve themselves so we'll get a better feel for who's who.
But for instance, is Zach Grinke's importance to Milwaukee equal to the Cubs' Wells and Cashner?
You should go here every once in awhile.
It's MLB's Injury Update page, and I'm always amazed at how many guys are on this list.
While Cashner and Wells' injuries are pretty devastating, look at the other teams.
Ouch.
Anyway, in the meantime, no real need for the heart monitor yet.
And be thankful you're not a Sox fan right now:
