Hi Matt.
So, we hardly know you, but we already like you.
You're our big off season pick-up, the guy who's gonna make the rotation rock solid and maybe even good enough (considering the injuries elsewhere) be about the best in the Central.
I notice you're struggling a bit this spring, but you know what?
Nobody cares about that - it's just spring.
So if you have a bad outing right now, just say it was a bad outing. You were working on a certain pitch or something, and you don't really care about the score.
We don't, I promise.
But when you blame a bad outing in Spring Training on a slippery mound well, we care about that.
Because that sounds like you might be an excuse guy.
A flapper of gums.
Don't be that.
Just pitch, brother.
We'll continue to like you as long as you give it your all.
And we'll pretend we never heard anything about a slippery mound.
Umm, what else?
Braden Looper gave up 8 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks.
That's probably an out of the picture performance.
Jeff Samardzija struck out 3 in his one inning.
Max Ramirez hit a grand slam!
And the Sun Times says mid-week this week is going to be some kind of big pow wow with Mike Quade and Jim Hendry, and decisions will be made on who stays and who goes, and perhaps they'll decide on what to do with Carlos Silva.
SO glad to read that there's no interest in ex-Met 2nd baseman Luis Castillo, who I hope goes to Philly and mucks up some early-season stuff for them.
And lastly, LETS WATCH THE CUBS TODAY!
Schedule says 3:05 on CSN, and Randy Wells starts.
Perfect for this rainy crap day.
Go Randy!
