Did you ever see that "Roll Tide" spot for ESPN?
Then, I saw some interviews with Auburn fans and heard that "War Eagle" thing.
And THEN, I was at the game Sunday and heard "Bear Down" about a million times, and it occurred to me that we're as weird as those people in Alabama.
So I'm embracing it, Bear down.
In that Bear down spirit, I realized we haven't talked about the Cubs in awhile, Bear down.
They just had their Bear down Cubs Convention, and Bear Down if I didn't miss it.
If any of you went, then Bear down tell me about it.
But I hear next season the team will wear Ron Santo #10 black armbands, Bear Down, and they're also going to build him a statue.
That's worth a Papa Bear Down.
Also, people are still plenty pee-oh'd at one Ryan Theriot and his big Cardinal mouth.
Most Bear Down interesting and relevant to us is the Ricketts' faith in Jim Hendry (read about it at the Daily Herald - they might ask you to sign up and you should - it takes a minute and Miles/Levine/Rozner are excellent.)
Now, what happened yesterday, Bear Down, is this: the Cubs shipped off Tom Gorzelanny for 3 Washington Nats minor leaguers: rhp A.J. Morris, outfielder Michael Burgess, and lhp Graham Hicks.
Morris and Burgess are supposedly promise-filled (read here), Bear Down, while Hicks isn't supposed to be very good.
Bruce Levine says the Cubs made the trade "because of payroll constraints".
Interesting, Bear Down.
So no more Big G, but this wasn't unexpected, either.
And as for the Bears/Packers, well, Bear Down.
It's gonna be a helluva week.
