Right now Sean Marshall might be our most valuable Cub.
Yep, the starting pitching has been fabulous, but the bullpen has been the thing that's really been giving me that horrible sense of the unknown, like monsters under the bed.
Sean Marshall, we all know he could start. Probably it kills him that he's not. But he's such a cool, non-complaining team guy with such a mountain of talent - all he wants to do is help the team win.
And he's doing it.
Nobody's scored on him yet, and he's got 9 K's in 5 innings where he just shut the other team down.
Isn't it awesome when he comes in and tosses that curve that comes down from about 30 feet and makes guys look silly?
It looks like Lou might be changing his role to be more of a late inning guy because he's pretty hot, but this is a guy who can do anything.
Probably he'll come in today, and it'll be Braun or Fielder and runners on base, because that's when he comes in.
Really fun to watch, and I figure he'll be carrying this team throughout the year in a super-important role.
Go Cubs.
