My Dad's here.
The annual trip from AZ.
Last night we had the greatest seats - 3 rows behind the "of" in "The Friendly Confines of Wrigley Field" painted on top of the visitor's dugout.
If you watched, you saw Ryan Dempster pitch a fabulous 8 innings of shut out ball.
You saw D. Lee hit his 33rd homer and Sam Fuld make another breathtaking catch.
And you saw the Cubs win the opener of the 4 game Brewer series, the one I thought was gonna be THE BIG SERIES when I first looked at the schedule in April.
But, at least it was a perfect night.
Here are some shots.
First, we started at Jake's Pub, where I got schooled on the table.
Scott - very nice new cues by the way.
All straight.
Didn't help, though.
Vince Vaughn was the guest of honor.
He threw out the first ball.
Kind of a dorky toss, really.
Derrek Lee is a full head taller than Prince Fielder.
This is after Ryan Dempster plunked Ryan Braun.
I hope the conversation went like this...
Lou: Did you do that on purpose or are you getting tired?
Ryan: What do you think?
Lou: Okay, finish the inning.
This is Aramis taking a huge swing.
Somebody hit a high foul ball.
Lou, Dempster, and Terrible Ted watch Soto take a hack.
And Carlos finished it off.
Cubs 2 Brewers nothin'.
See?
A perfect night.
We drove home with the top down listening to Jerry Jeff Walker.
I still can't talk about Urlacher.
