We knew this was gonna happen.
Honestly, I'm sick of all the crap we've been talking about all season.
It would be so nice to just talk about a great play or at least stuff that happens on the diamond, but this season is full of bullshit that happens off the field.
In case you missed it, Mark Derosa was traded from the Indians to the Cardinals yesterday.
Like on any team, Mark DeRosa will be a perfect and valuable fit.
The Cardinals really needed the right handed bat and the versatility of our favorite ex-Cub.
Here's Buster Olney's take.
Is it the end of the world?
Nah.
Trading DeRo was something that stuck in my craw, but if I closed my eyes I didn't have to pay attention to the situation because it was in Cleveland.
Now, I'll be staring at it the rest of the year.
So I'm pissed.
Okay, it was a really entertaining game yesterday, and the Cubs showed more spark in coming back as many times as they did than...I guess just more than I'm accustomed to this season.
Some clutch hits, some clutch walks...Lee, Theriot and Soriano with a couple RBIs apiece.
But Scott Podsednik was 4 for 5 with a homer and a spark that drove the Sox.
He really had a game.
And a kid named Gordon Beckham got the winning RBI with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th.
Cubs 7 White Sox 8.
Today it's Carlos Zambrano against John Danks, who you'll remember completely shut the Cubs down a week ago giving up 5 hits and a run and taking the win 4 - 1.
But now, of course, we'll all be checking the St. Louis box scores every day to see what DeRo's doing.
And in a couple weeks (July 10th), he'll be at Wrigley with his new Cardinal uni on.
Won't that be a special day?
