Wow, lotta stuff happened yesterday, but none more important than a big W for the Cubs and a big L for the Sox.
Probably the biggest story was Lou Piniella telling Milton Bradley to take off his uniform and go home.
I think it was Corey Provis who first talked about it during the broadcast (I was listening to the radio).
Gotta admit, I got kinda excited about this.
Lou's really good at picking his spot for his "displaying fire" or whatever you want to call it.
If he was doing that all the time, it wouldn't mean as much - you and me (and the players) would all be thinking, "Here he goes again..."
Less is more, I guess.
(That's a quote from an architect named Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, I just looked it up.)
But the other thing that happened was this: yesterday morning I was thinking about Geovany Soto the stoner.
After he hit the 3 run dinger?
He's just Geo again.
If Milton could emulate that example, all his problems would go away.
It was a really entertaining game, the kind the Cubs rarely seem to pull out this year.
Even Ozzie talked about it being a great game.
Young Randy Wells gets win number 2, and I have got to do some kind of special post for Jake Fox.
Two days in a row he hit a single, a double, and homer.
What a stud.
Cubs 5 Sox 4.
Today is Ryan Dempster against Sox Ace Mark Buehrle.
If you haven't read it, here is Mark's little story on how much he hates Wrigley Field.
Since I'm doing quotes today, here's one for Mark that I heard Tina Fey say in the "Reunion" episode of "30 Rock":
"Suck it."
