Some guys get up to the Bigs for a cup of coffee.
Bobby Scales, he just might be a different kind of guy.
You've all heard the story - 11 years in the minor leagues, incredible patience, never gives up, has a pretty awesome spring, Aramis Ramirez gets injured and poof.
Livin' the dream.
He's played in 6 games, has 8 hits, 2 doubles, a triple, a homer, 5 RBIs, a .444 AVG, and as they say, he's flashin' the glove too.
Plus, he just seems to be such an incredible human.
Have you seen the interviews?
Go here for the one with Mouthpiece Sports' Sarah Spain.
"For alot of my career people said I wasn't good enough defensively to play here..."
"A testament to the infield coaches I've had..."
Guy's impossibly humble, outgoing, and just plain nice.
Couldn't be rooting for a cooler guy.
Bobby, I hope your cup stays bottomless and you just stay a Cub.
And in a couple hours, we're gonna head to Wrigley and...I think Bobby's starting today.
I also think today Milton Bradley sits out for his 1 game suspension today...
And I know that it's rookie Randy Wells starting against Roy Oswalt of the...why it's the Houston Astros.
(Should you leave a comment today, I'm pretty sure you know the 4 words each comment should start with.)
It's a little cool out, but the rain's supposed to be out of here so lets play ball.
Go Cubs.
PS: I WANT TO BE SUPER CLEAR ABOUT MY RYAN THERIOT POST ON MAY 14. I heard that the Sun Times had an article that talks about Ryan and PEDs. It really pisses me off that they went there, but anything to sell a paper, right? Anyway, I in no way intended my cartoon to mean anything like that.
End of story.
