Probably you were, like me, in the post Easter Dinner horizontal couch position when Prince Fielder hit a grand slam and ruined dessert.
His shot went so high the camera man couldn't keep up with it.
It went off the top of the screen.
I thought it might go out that weird roof hole they've got at Miller Park.
The camera found Reed Johnson running to the wall, suddenly slowing and...giving up.
(On the replay, I would see that when I thought he gave up, he really just slowed to gauge the wall.)
Then it was kinda like Reed blasted off.
It was a grand slam, and then it wasn't.
Later on ESPN's Top 10 plays, Reed's would be #2, losing to The Masters.
Reed Johnson is one of the reasons you watch baseball.
ANYTHING can happen when that guy's out there.
Including having Prince Fielder tip his cap to the fabulous play.
Or this, the catch he made in Washington last year.
Lots of other good stuff happened including Alfonso's leadoff homer and Marmol's dominating 8th.
Bad stuff included Milton Bradley's "tight" groin.
The Cubs beat the Brewers 8-5 and take 2 of 3 in Milwaukee, with game 3 belonging to the amazing Reed Johnson.
