This guy Hoffpauir has been tearing up triple A all year long.
Cubs.com says, "Since the All-Star break, he was hitting .366 with a .796 slugging percentage. For the season, Hoffpauir has a .362 average, with career highs of 25 homers, 34 doubles, and 100 RBIs."
Those numbers are kinda off the charts.
For the September call-ups, the Cubs are bringing him up along with oft-injured Angel Guzman and Jon Lieber.
Probably some others as well.
But the starters could use a breather, and some new guys will help out.
In a couple minutes it'll be Astro Roy Oswalt, who's never seen Hoffpauir, vs. Jason Marquis and the Cubs at home.
Lets hope we see a looong ball from young Micah.
So, I did this post today because frequent commenters DB and Bud and Sarah all made me feel like the creepy guy who yells "fire" at the theatre with this morning's negative post.
And also because Micah Hoffpauir is uh, really good.
It's a beautiful day, the Cubs are in first, and this is the summer of the best chance the Cubs have had in one hundred years.
That better, guys?
