Not only are the Cubs still in 1st place, but they take a series from the Marlins in the Cubs' own personal Bermuda Triangle, the state of Florida.
Dempster is still looking like a candidate for the Cy Young, but most impressive was Alfonso Soriano, Aramis Ramirez, and Reed Johnson creating the first ever triple-doubles-with-the-bases-loaded-inning.
I'm just guessing it was the first ever, of course, but that was one impossibly big time seventh inning.
I'm still trying to make this summer slow down and having no luck.
It's August 18th and I've only been to the beach once.
And I just have a feeling that it's gonna be the end of September before we know it.
Here's hoping I can still do this kind of post then.
lastly, of course the Bigfoot thing turned out to be a hoax, but I'm so hoping that the chupacabra is really on the loose.
"Chupacabra" actually means "goat sucker".
As in "suck all the blood out of the goat".
That has a special meaning for all of us, I believe.
So GO CUBS.
And GO CHUPACABRA!
