Sutter's daughter, Alison, was in Angola (South Central Africa) recently to do some good.
She was there for 3 weeks with a group of people building schools and training teachers - a pretty noble and cool thing to do.
To thank them, the local people in the villages cooked their meals.
At the end, they gave them the highest form of feast: goat.
And as an added bonus, they invited the group to participate in the actual slaughter.
I guess Alison was the only one to uh, help out.
When she got back from her trip, she was showing Sutter the photos from the trip and this one was in there (well, I embellished a little).
He brought it to my office with the story.
Of course we figure it has a bit of special meaning to all Cub Fans: slaughter a goat and maybe even if Phillie Ryan Howard is safe, the ump's thumb will somehow point up in the air and he'll say, "He's ooout!"
I only read about it, but I guess yesterday Derrek Lee made a spectacular play on Ryan's grounder, flipped to Jeff Samardzija, young Ryan gets the thumb, and Phillie third-base coach Steve Smith gets the ejection in the argument that followed.
Alfonso Soriano with the winning homer in the 7th.
Cubs win 3-2.
The Cubs have won 7 in a row, they're 6 1/2 games in front of Milwaukee and 11 in front of the Cards.
There hasn't been a hundred wins on the North side of Chicago since 1935, when the Cubs lost the World Series to the Detroit Tigers.
In 1908, the Cubs had 99 wins.
In 2008, the Cubs have 85 wins with 27 games to go.
Hope they stay hot.
