You've all seen this shot of Sean Gallagher on Cubs.com, right?
What clown shot that?
I figure it's a "professional" photographer like above.
But it could be a hot dog guy, the clubhouse guy's uncle, or maybe Annie Liebowitz just a little too awe-struck by the sheer Celebrity of Sean.
Don't know, but the photos are pretty bad.
LOHO had a competition last year of the worst shots - it was hilarious.
I think Pittsburgh's Tom Gorzellany won, although to be fair I think it's the photographer rather than the player.
Even Mark DeRosa looks a little bit like he coulda been in "Deliverance".
Okay, had the night off...lets look at the Cubs.
40 wins, first place, #1 in the power rankings.
You should try saying that out loud, because merely reading it isn't enough to communicate the enormity of weird that it all is.
If you want to make it seem more "normal" say it this way, "nothing terrible has happened."
Also: Soriano seems to be moving a little better, I'm expecting Bob Howry to start kicking in for real (can Marmol get a little rest, please?), Kerry Wood leads the NL with 18 saves, and this is play-the-guys-from-the-other-league month: Toronto, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and the other team from Chicago.
The White Sox are red freaking first-place hot, and the other teams I mentioned?
All in front of the New York Yankees in the AL East.
A little Kansas City or Seattle action woulda been nice.
Anyway, hugely tough month coming up, only 9 home games, and...I can't name a single Blue Jay.
It'll be a learning experience too.
But the rest of this amazing year starts at Wrigley tomorrow night.
I'll be there, wondering what else good can possibly happen.
