I imagine Mark DeRosa might be having more 3 hit days, don't you?
When you think about it, the 2 hole in the Cubs lineup has to be one of the most coveted places to hit in the entire league.
Imagine the strikes you'd see.
Although the one Mark hit to right that drove in a run - that was so low I couldn't believe he hit it.
But he went 3 for 5 with a homer and a couple RBIs.
Jason Marquis maybe turned a corner.
It amazes me when players respond positively when dissed in public.
Lou completely dressed him down on the mound (and on television) during his last walk-a-thon start, and then Jason throws an absolutely gorgeous 6 something innings.
Look at Ozzie with the Sox - he melts down and throws threats all over, and suddenly their bats all wake up.
What else?
Cubs 3 Dodgers 1 - the Cubs the first team in the majors to get 40 wins.
Trouble in St. Louis with Wellemeyer (Wellemeyer is still starting?) and the inflamed elbow, and Adam Wainwright with a finger injury.
And lastly, giddy Tribune writer Rick Morrissey has a column (I didn't read it - I looked at the headline and looked away) that I think is about a Cubs/White Sox world series.
MORRISSY YOU GIANT JINXY WEIRDO - why would you even write down such a thing?
Don't look at it folks, you'll turn to stone.
