How about that one?
Of all the games I've been lucky enough to be at, this one is way up there.
Olson got tickets sort of behind the plate but looking more down first base line, so we had just the best view of Aramis running the bases after whammin' the winner to center field off Sox loser Scott Linebrink.
It was so loud with the goosebump crowdnoise, letting all the anxiety of the last week go flying...
Not to be selfish or anything, but I REALLY needed this game.
It didn't feel like panic at all out there, even when AJ hit his homer early.
You just wait with this Cub team.
You just wait - funny how those 3 words imply both a threat and the wait we've all had.
But I mean, you're patient with these guys because you know they'll get it done.
When D. Lee and Aramis went back to back, I looked at Olson and we were like, "See!"
Bob Howry came in and did his job, and I actually thought maybe it was time for Marmol next.
But you could see Kerry Wood warming up and Olson goes, "I guess Lou figures they'll win it in the bottom half."
Anderson hits the double, we think he'll walk Thome for sure but they pitch to him.
Pop up goes Thome.
Pop up goes Cabrera.
Then the 3rd base ump is calling out Pierzynski on an overswing for strike 3, AJ's bat and helmet go flying, everybody yelling and...all the sudden there's a ball sailing out of the park.
Aramis running around the bases with fist pumping.
W.
Sang a little Steve Goodman.
Okay, gotta get ready all over again.
Me, Em and Sutter will all be out there today.
Go Cubs.
