Of course, that's pronounced "hoo-REE-ay for PEE-ay".
And thank God those grotesque extra innings finally ended.
Woulda been easy to pick at the bad things in this game, but I'm choosing to go positive.
After replacing newbie centerfielder Reed Johnson with Pie late in the game, Lou had no players left on the bench to hit for Felix when he stepped up to the plate against some whatever Pirate lefty.
Earlier, Felix looked awesome on one swing, missing a monster homer by a couple foul feet.
But then took these weird long slo mo swings at the next couple pitches to strike out.
So it was wonderful to see him come thru in the clutch at a point in the evening when I was pacing in front of the television to keep awake.
Ryan Dempster was also way above expectation, going I think 7 innings and giving up only one hit.
Okay, enough of these games where poor Soto's gotta kneel behind the plate for a hundred innings.
A sweep tonight would be nice, and then it's on to Philadelphia.
Go Cubs.
ps: Olson comes in my office yesterday. Remember Carmen Pignatiello coming in two nights ago and throwing 8 balls in a row?
Olson says, "He walked 8 guys and then walked to the airport."
Sure enough, Lou did send him packing.
Welcome back Sean Marshall.
